SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Shan (South and East) States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Chin and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (6.26) inches in Taungkok, (5.00) inches in Paung, (4.06) inches in Thandwe, (3.38) inches in Sittwe, (3.31) inches in Ramthlo, (2.99) inches in Thandaunggyi, (2.95) inches in Okkan, (2.83) inches in Gwa, (2.80) inches in Belin, (2.63) inches in Zaung Tu, (2.51) inches in Kyaukpyu, (2.44) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (2.24) inches each in Hakha and Hpa-an (Agro-Met) and (2.17) inches in Mawlaik.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 07th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 12) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (5-8) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
