BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Tropical Storm “Sinlaku” over the Gulf of Tomkin has crossed Upper Vietnam Coast and it was centered near Thanh Hoa. It is forecast to move West-Northwestwards and downgrade to Tropical Depression over Laos.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 03rd August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon–Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (10-14) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon–Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong to vigorous monsoon.
