SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw and Magway Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Magway Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.80) inches in Homalin, (2.67) inches in Kataingti, (2.59) inches in Bago, (2.52) inches in Labutta, (2.20) inches in Yangon(Northern Dagon), (2.12) inches in Hpapun, (1.94) inches in Shwegwun, (1.93) inches in Phyarpon, (1.84) inches in Gangaw, (1.82) inches in Yangon (Kaba-Aye), (1.65) inches each in Phyu and Kyeikkhame, (1.49) inches in Kawkareik, (1.46) inches in Hainggyigyun, (1.40) inches in Kyeikdon and (1.38) inches in Okkan.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 01st August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and  Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 01st August, 2020:  Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 01st August, 2020:      One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 01st August, 2020:   Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (80%).

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and widespread in Yangon Region.
