SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Yangon Region, scattered in Mon State, fairly widespread in Magway, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay and Magway Regions and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (5.75) inches in Myothit, (2.83) inches in Ngazun(Agro), (2.70) inches in Htilin, (2.54) inches in Tagaung(Agro), (2.20) inches in Loilin, (2.01) inches in Manaung, (1.93) inches each in Monyin and Taungkok, (1.70) inches each in Pyinoolwin and Yesagyo, (1.57) inches in Namsam, (1.54) inches in Homalin, (1.50) inches in Lunkyaw (Agro-Met), (1.45) inches in Pakokku and (1.38) inches each in Kyaukmae, Mogoke and Okkan.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29thJuly, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw and Magway Region, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Shan (North and East), Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
