SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Chin, Rakhine and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Magway Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.60) inches in Kyaukmae, (2.52) inches in Manaung, (2.13) inches each in Myauk U and Belin, (2.09) inches in Hainggyigyun, (1.97) inches in Pathein, (1.85) inches in Kataingti, (1.80) inches each in Kuaukhtu and Thaton, (1.65) inches in Aunglan, (1.61) inches in Mogoke, (1.57) inches each in Naungcho, Myine and Pauk Kaung, (1.42) inches each in Machanbaw, Mindat and Mingin and (1.38) inches each in Bhamo and Ramthlo.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the East Central Bay of Bengal and become intensify during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th June, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in Northern Myanmar areas.
