BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN) which is crossing between Digha(West Bengal), India and Hatiyi Islands, Bangladesh has moved to North-Northeastwards and weaken to the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN). It lies at about (45) miles South of Kolkta(India).Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and cloudy over the North Bay and West Central Bay and partly cloudy and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 21st May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Rakhin States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10-16) feet off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
