SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers has been scattered in Northern Shan and Mon States and isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan and Kayin States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C)  above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Rakhine States and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin and Kayah States and (2°C) below May average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and (4°C) below May average temperature in Northern Shan State. The significant day temperatures were (46°C) in Chauk, (44°C) in Aunglan and (43°C) each in Tatkon, Magway, Taungdwingyi, Sinbyugyun and Taunggu. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.20) inches in Kyeikdon, (1.70) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (0.67) inch Kawkareik, (0.63) inch in Ye and (0.35) inch in Monyin.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved to Northwest ward and reach over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal. It has intersified into a deep depression and centered at about (560) Nautical miles South of Paradadip(Odisha), India, about (640) Nautical miles South of Digha(india), about (700) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara(Bangladesh), about (460) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island and about (605) Nautical miles Southwest of Pathein (Myanmar). Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and North Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th May, 2020: Weather will be partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, (Southern and Eastern)Shan State. Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
