SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, Weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Magway Region, Rakhine and Kayin States, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kachin, Eastern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Mandalay Region and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Shan (South and East) State and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States and (4°C) below May average temperature in Northern Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were (46°C) in Chauk, (44°C) each in Nyaung Oo, Minbu, Magway, Taungdwingyi and Gangaw and (43°C) each in Monywa, Kyemone(Agro-Met), Myinmu, Myingyan, Aunglan, Pauk, Sinbyugyun and Taunggu. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (1.10) inches in Lunkyaw (Agro-Met), (0.86) inch in Pyinoolwin, (0.55) inch each in Putao and Thipaw, (0.47) inch in Machanbaw, (0.43) inch each in Lashio, Kyaukse and Thaton and (0.35) inch each in Kyaukmae and Namsam.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal during next (24)hrs and a Cyclonic Storm during next (48)hrs. It is very likely to move Northwest wards initially and then recurve North-Northeast wards towards North Bay of Bengal after(17.5.2020). Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin State and scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Shan and Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States.
