SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Chin State, scattered in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, (Northern and Southern) Shan and Rakhine States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw and Yangon Region and (2°C) below May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State and (4°C) below May average temperature in Chin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) in Chauk and (40°C) each in Magway, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi, Gyobingauk, Myawaddy and Theinzayet. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.87) inch in Mongyang, (0.79) inch in Katha, (0.67) inch in Khayan, (0.59) inch each in Paletwa and Okkan, (0.39) inch in Muse, (0.31) inch in Pathein, (0.23) inch in Gangaw and (0.20) inch each in Kunlong and Myauk U.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 05th May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States, scattered in Taninthayi Region, Northern Shan State and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Chin States.
