SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers has been fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions and Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan States and isolated in Magway Region, Eastern Shan and Kayah States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above April average temperature in Kachin State and (2°C) above April average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (46°C) in Chauk and (43°C) each in Minbu and Magway and (42°C) each in Monywa, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi, Gangaw, Sinbyugyun, Taunggu and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.47) inch in Hpa Saung, (0.35) inch in Kunlong, (0.32) inch in Tiddim, (0.24) inch in Kawthaung,  (0.20) inch in Kani and (0.16) inch each in Putao, Homalin and Mawlaik.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th April, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States, scattered in Taninthayi Region and Northern Shan state and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan (South and East) and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Chin States.
