SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Rakhine State with isolated heavy falls in Magway Region and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above January average temperature in Yangon Region, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Sagaing, Magway, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Eastern Shan, Chin and Mon States, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, Kachin and Rakhine States, (7°C) to (8°C)above January average temperatures in (Northern and Southern)Shan and Kayah States and about January average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State. The significant night temperatures were (5°C) in Hakha, (7°C) in Mindat, (8°C) each in Falam, Tiddim and Tongzan and (9°C) in Ramthlo. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Ramthlo (1.97)inches, Tiddim (1.73)inches, Gangaw (1.53)inches, Falam (1.38)inches, Hakha (1.33)inches, Matupi (1.26)inches, Moemate (1.14)inches, Mingin (1.10)inches and Mindat (0.98)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th January, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Mandalay Region and isolated in Magway and Taninthayi Regions, (Southern and Eastern)Shan and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5 – 7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
