SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Kachin State, scattered in (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and isolated in Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above January average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Mon States, (5°C) above January average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Kayin States, (7°C) above January average temperature in Southern Shan State and about January average temperatures in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions. The significant night temperatures were (5°C) in Hakha, (7°C) in Tiddim and (8°C) each in Mindat and Tongzan. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Thipaw (2.09)inches, Matupi (0.63)inch, Naungcho and Mindat (0.55)inch each and Mogaung, Kyaukmae and Htilin (0.43)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd January, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay Region, Eastern Shan and Rakhine States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5 – 7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States.
