BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 17thAugust, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Bago Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with  rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 –10) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along  Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4 – 7) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
