SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, Eastern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions, (Northern and Southern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Magway and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Ann (3.94)inches, Gwa (3.50)inches, Thandwe (3.27)inches, Dawei (3.19)inches, Launglon (2.80)inches, Coco-Island (2.76) inches, Hpapun (2.72)inches, Manaung (2.64)inches, Central-Yangon (2.45)inches, Myeik (2.29)inches, Nyaunglaybin and Yangon (Kaba-Aye)(2.18)inches each, Kya-In-Seikkyi (1.95)inches, Thaton (1.70)inches and Htilin and Kawkareik (1.57) inches each.

 BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th June, 2019:  Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 -10)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Coastal areas.
