SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan and Chin States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Eastern Shan, Kayin and Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) above May normal temperatures in (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May normal temperatures Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above May normal temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Chin State. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) in Chauk, (41°C) each in Myinmu, Tharrawady and Bawlakhae and (40°C) each in Myingyan, Nyaung Oo, Kyaukse, Magway, Pakokku, Gangaw, Sinbyugyun, Ann, Gyobingauk and Hinthada. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kawthaung (1.89)inches, Yay (1.69)inches, Wundwin (1.30)inches, Pyay (1.03)inches, Mawlaik (0.71)inch, Yangon(North Dagon) (0.59)inch, Pakokku (0.52)inch, Myitkyina (0.35)inch, Tongzan and Mingin (0.32)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th May, 2019:  Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4 - 6) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of thundery activities in Southern Myanmar areas.
