BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal - North Odisha coasts still persists, India. It is likely to become more marked and move West- Northwestwards across North Odisha - Gangetic West Bengal, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 30th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay,  Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Chin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon Sataes and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan states. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan States.
