SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Chin State, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon state. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.36 inches in Kangyidaunt, 3.70 inches in Thabaung, 3.43 inches each in Thaton and Ye, 3.31 inches in Khayan, 3.24 inches in Pantanaw, 3.19 inches in Kawthaung, 3.15 inches in Mogok, 3.08 inches in Mawlaik, 3.04 inches in Yeu and 2.99 inches in Zalun. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Shan states. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
