BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and  Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 21st August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago,Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Rakhine, Shan states. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States.
