SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.18 inches in Ye, 4.14 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.43 inches in Hkamti, 3.11 inches in Chaungsone, 3.00 inches in Hlaingbwe(Shwegun), 2.76 inches in Mudon, 2.60 inches in Dawei, 2.40 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 2.36 inches in Kyeikmayaw and 2.17 inches in Theinzayet. 

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and  South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Kayah, Chin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Shan states. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
