SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, Rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with  regionally heavyfalls in Sagaing Region and  isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.65 inches in Thabeikkyin, 3.86 inches in Katha, 3.77 inches in Mawlaik, 3.04  inches in Ye, 2.84 inches in Paung,  2.68 inches in Paung Byin, 2.60 inches in Mawlamyine, 2.53 inches in Belin, 2.48 inches each  in Dawei and Mudon, 2.24 inches each in Ye U, Thaton and  Chaungsone. 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over the South West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha, India had been reached to  the North Odisha and adjoining Jharkhand. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay,  Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Tainthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States.
