SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Chin State, scattered in Magway Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.23 inches in Chaungsone, 3.15 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.84 inches in Theinzayet, 2.79 inches in Mudon, 2.52 inches in Mogoke, 2.48 inches each in Thabeikkyin and Loikaw, 2.28 inches in Meiktila, 2.09 inches in Hinthada, 1.86 inches in Mawlamyine and 1.78 inches in Kanbalu. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Northern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Tainthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States.
