BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 8th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway,  Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in  Mandalay, Magway,  Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon,  Bago, Magway, Upper  Sagaing,  Taninthayi Regions and Kayah,  Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Tainthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYSIncrease of rain in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, EasternShan States.
