SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Magway Region and Kachin, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 7.73 inches in Sittwe, 5.31 inches in Kanbalu, 4.17 inches in Mongywang, 3.02 inches in Myeik, 2.82 inches in Mongping,  2.63 inches in Hakha, 2.24 inches in Coco Island, 2.01 inches in Homalin, 1.77 inches each in Paung Byin and Yeu and 1.61 inches in Kyaunggon. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Tainthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Mandalay, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.
