SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Kachin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.53 inches in Yangon(Kaba Aye), 4.09 inches in Hainggyigyun, 3.90 inches in Pyinoolwin, 3.74 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 3.58 inches in Ywangan, 3.26 inches in Putao, 3.15 inches in Kyaukse, 2.72 inches in Naungcho, 2.68 inches in Mandalay(Aungmyaythasan) and 2.44 inches in Ye.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Southern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States.
