SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Mon, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.97 inches in Pathein, 4.60 inches in Bogale, 4.01 inches in Labutta, 3.70 inches in Belin, 3.48 inches in Thabaung, 3.43 inches each in Khayan and Manaung, 3.27 inches in Myaungmya, 2.99 inches each in Paung and Mawlamyinegyun and 2.95 inches in Shwegu.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st July 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Yangon Region and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-11 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States.
