SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway and Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.99 inches in Thaton, 2.76 inches in Hainggyigyun, 2.63 inches in Pathein, 2.52 inches in Putao, 2.44 inches in Naung Shwe, 2.28 inches each in Thabaung and Eimae, 2.16 inches in Myeik, 1.97 inches each in Kawthaung and Manaung, 1.89 inches in Mogoke and 1.73 inches in Kengtung.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining (North Odisha-West Bengal) Coast (India) has intensified into a Depression. It is centered at about 255 Nautical miles West- Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), 100 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Paradip and 70 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Sagar Island, India. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th July 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scatterd in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
