SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.23 inches in Dawei, 2.72 inches each in Mudon and Paung, 2.68 inches in Myitkyina, 2.52 inches in Manaung, 1.73 inches in Kawkareik, 1.66 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 1.62 inches in Coco Island, 1.52 inches in Kyaukpyu, 1.50 inches in Chaungsone and 1.46 inches in Mawlamyine. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy over the  Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th June 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State.
