SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah, Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.98 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.91 inches in Hkamti, 2.44 inches in Theinzayet, 1.65 inches in Bago, 1.53 inches in Tiddim, 1.43 inches in Kyaukpadaung, 1.34 inches in Zaung Tu, 1.22 inches in Shwekyin, 1.06 inches in Myanaung and 1.02 inches in Kalewa.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and  cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th June 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
