SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Southen Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.06 inches in Ye, 2.13 inches in Kalay, 2.01 inches in Mawlamyinegyun, 1.93 inches in Belin, 1.81 inches in Hakha, 1.70 inches in Chaungsone, 1.61 inches in Sittwe, 1.54 inches in Hmawbi(Agro-Met), 1.50 inches in Ingapu and 1.49 inches in Hkamti.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18thJune 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States.
