SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.62 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.35 inches in Hpa-an, 2.60 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 1.81 inches in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), 1.77 inches each in Pyinmana and Phyu, 1.73 inches in Myawaddy, 1.38 inches in Tatkon, 0.97 inch in Yangon(Botahtaung), 0.90 inch in Kya-In-Sekkyi and 0.79 inch each in Bago and Dawei.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: : According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Severe Tropical Storm “MATMO” over the South China Sea is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a Typhoon “MATMO” during next 12 hours.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th October 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine States and fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kachin, Kayah, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: : Continuations of thundery activities in Deltaic areas.
