SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States, scattered in Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.39 inches in Dawei, 2.45 inches in Okpho, 2.33 inches in Myeik, 2.28 inches in Kawthaung, 2.00 inches in Thaton, 1.89 inches in Kyeikkhame, 1.81 inches in Coco Island, 1.75 inches in Paing Kyone,  1.14 inches in Pinlaung and 0.94 inch each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Tharrawady.

BAYINFERENCE:  According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the North Bay and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards and intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal. It is likely continue to move Westwards and may intensify into a depression over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal (Off South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts, India) during next 24 hrs and may cross into the South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts on 27-9-2025. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Southern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.  

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 27th September 2025:                   Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 27th September 2025:                   Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and fairly widespread in Mandalay Region.
