BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “MITAG” has crossed the Southern Coast of China from the Guangdong yesterday which moved Northwestwards and downgraded into a Tropical depression. It is likely to move Westwards and grandurally downgrade in to a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hrs.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENINGOF THE 20th September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah, Rakhine, Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough to very rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 10-13 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Sea will be moderate to strong elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
