SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, light rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Bago Region. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below January average temperature in Chin State, (2°C) below January average temperature in Northern Shan State and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State,  (3°C) above January average temperature in Kayin State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-2°C) in Hakha, (4°C) each in Kyaukmae, Mongyang, Tiddim and Pyinoolwin, (5°C) each in Putao, Heho and Mogoke and (6°C) each in Loilin and Falam.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th January 2024: Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3-5) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 7thJanuary 2024:   Generally fair weather.
