SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan State and Isolated in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions, weather has been generally fair in Kayah State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The highest day temperatures were 38.4°C in Chauk, 37.0°C in Zaungtu, 36.6°C in Magway, 36.5°C each in Pakokku and Myinmu, 36.3°C in Tharrawady, 36.0°C each  in Mandalay, Minbu, Sagaing, Hinthada, Hpa-an(Agro) and Myawaddy on 8-10-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.63 inch in Kungyangon, 0.32 inch in Tharrawady, 0.28 inch in Pinlaung, 0.20 inch each in Kyauktan, Phyarpon and Dawei, 0.16 inch in Heho and 0.08 inch each in Yangon(Botahtaung) and Myeik.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the South Andaman Sea and  elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th October 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, isolated in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Southern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%.  Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered rain or thundershower in  Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. 

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 10th October 2026:  Possibility of isolated light rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 40%.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw. Scattered rain or thundershowers in Yangon Region and weather will be partly cloudy in Mandalay Region.
