29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

     According to the (12:30) hrs M.S.T observation today, the water level of Chindwin River at Homalin is observed as about (2) feet below its danger level. It may reach its danger level during the next (2) days.

    According to the (12:30) hrs M.S.T observation today, the water level of Chindwin River at Phaungpyin is observed as about (3½) feet below its danger level. It may reach its danger level during the next (2) days.

    According to the (12:30) hrs M.S.T observation today, the water level of Chindwin River at Mawlaik is observed as about (7) feet below its danger level. It may reach its danger level during the next (3) days.

    It is especially advised to the people who settle near the river banks and low lying areas at Homalin, Phaungpyin and Mawlaik Townships to take precaution measure.
