30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 24th June, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Rakhine States, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region,  Kachin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate in elsewhere Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
