30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 13th June, 2016: Rain will be scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan (Eastern and Southern) State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.
