29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the North Andaman Sea still persists. It is forecast to move Northwest wards and may further intensify into a Depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next (6) hours .

General caution

Under the influence of the "Low Pressure Area", rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon,  Ayeyarwady and Thanintharyi Regions, Rakhine States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States within next (48)hours commencing morning today.

           Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.  Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters.Wave height will be about (8-12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

          Under the influence of the "Low Pressure Area", people should be awared domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
