Cyclonic Storm
According to the observations at (10:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southeast Bay and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and now lies over the East Central Bay and adjoining West Central Bay and South East Bay of Bengal and intensified into a Cyclonic Storm (Gaja). It is centered at about (230)miles Northwest of Portblair, about (530)miles East of Chennai (India) and about (240)miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Cyclonic Storm is coded yellow stage.
Position of Cyclonic Storm, center pressure and wind
Cyclonic Storm is located at Latitude (13.4) degree North and Longitude (89.3) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1002) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (40)miles per hour at (10:30)hrs M.S.T today.
During next (24)hrs Forecast
It is forecast to move West-Northwestwards and it may further intensify into a Severe Cyclonic Storm during next (24) hours.
General caution
Due to the Cyclonic Storm, rain or thundershowers will be scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States within next (36) hours commencing today morning.
Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 - 10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
