23-11-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, its likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu(India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past

(24) hours,  weather has been partly cloudy in Shan and Kayah States, rain or

thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions,

scattered in Chin State, fairly widespread in Bago Region, Kachin and Rakhine

States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls

in Taninthayi Region and isolated heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States.

The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Launglone (5.35)inches,

Thaton (4.18)inches, Dawei (4.02)inches, Gwa (3.35)inches, Kyaukpyu (2.95)inches,

Mawlamyine (2.71)inches,Naunglaybin (2.68)inches, Yay (2.64)inches and

Pathein (2.60)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous in the Andaman Sea and South Bay

and moderate to strong elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 6th July, 2015: Rain or thundershowers

will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin

and Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin and

Chin States and isolated to scattered in the remaining Regions and States with

likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.

Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along

 Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
