29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kachin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Magway, Bago Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.79 inches in Myeik, 2.80 inches each in Pinlaung and Hainggyigyun, 2.06 inches in Ngapudaw, 2.00 inches in Nyaungdon, 1.93 inches each in Hlegu and Thaton, 1.78 inches in Dawei, 1.69 inches each in Aunglan and Kawthaung and 1.66 inches in Ann.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Magway, Bago Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
