DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AND HYDROLOGY (MYANMAR)

29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

A moderate earthquake of magnitude (5.3) Richter Scale with its epicenter outside Myanmar (Sichuan, China) about (890) miles northeast of Mandalay seismological observatory was recorded at (12) hr (44) min (41) sec M.S.T on 30^th September, 2017.
