(29-03-2024):Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below November average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and (2°C) above November average temperature in Mon State and about November average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) in Hakha, (7°C) each in Heho and Ramthlo, (8°C) in Mindat, (9°C) each in Putao, Mongyang and Tiddim and (10°C) each in Namsam, Pinlaung, Loilin, Pyinoolwin and Mogoke.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of South Andaman sea and Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. It may further intensify into a depression during next (36)hrs. It is forecast continuously move  West-Northwestwards and reach near Tamil Nadu coast (India).Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th November, 2020: Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region and Shan State. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (3-5) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Upper Myanmar areas.
