SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, scattered inLower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in BagoRegion and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Ragions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (6.40) inches in Kyeikdon, (3.74) inches in Putao, (3.61)inches in Kataingti(Hpapun), (3.03) inches in Mingin, (2.29) inches each in Ramthlo and Kalewa, (2.24) inches in Tamu, (1.85) inches each in Hainggyigyun, Kamamaung and Launglon, (1.81) inches in Kawthaung, (1.53) inches in Homalin, (1.42) inches in Hmawbi and (1.34) inches each in Coco-Island and Dawei.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th August, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, MagwayRegions and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in (Northern and Southern) Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Ragions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 – 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.
