 SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Magway and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Mudon (7.60)inches, Mawlamyine (6.89)inches, Chaungsone (6.77) inches, Dawei (5.47)inches, Yay (5.16)inches, Kawkareik (4.41)inches, Paung (3.90)inches, Kyeikmayaw (3.86)inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (3.59)inches, Kataingti (3.18)inches, Kyeikkhame (3.15)inches, Labutta (2.95)inches, Launglon (2.87)inches, Hainggyigyun (2.64) inches, Coco Island (2.48)inches and Manaung (2.44)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region, Kachin and (Northern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 –12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6 – 9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of icrease of rain in Bago Region, Kayin and Mon States.
