30-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 755 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 50 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Magway and Bago Regions, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Maungdaw (11.96)inches, Paletwa (8.03)inches, Kyauktaw (7.72)inches, Hakha (7.16)inches, Myauk U (6.93)inches, Gwa (6.26) inches, Chaungsone (6.02)inches, Thandwe  (5.72)inches, Falam (5.63) inches, Sittwe (5.55)inches, Mawlamyine (5.32) inches, Paung (5.28)inches, Hpa-an (Agro) (4.29)inches, Launglon (4.06)inches, Gangaw (3.03)inches and Saw (3.00)inches.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the depression over Northeast Bay of Bengal  remains almost stationary and centered at about (90)miles West-Southwest of Chittagong (Bangladesh), (140)miles West-Northwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar) and (190)miles Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar). Monsoon is strong to Vigorous in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 28th July, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Bago Regions, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40 - 45) m.p.h.
